Core Rhythms & Habits Inventory

How to Rate Yourself: Instructions

Leadership in church planting is a stewardship of the capacity and calling God has entrusted to you. This inventory is designed to help you take an honest account of your current habits and internal vitality. It is not a performance grade, but a diagnostic tool to help you and your mentor identify where you are thriving and where you need a renewed rhythm for the season ahead.
As you review each behavior, please provide two distinct ratings. These scores are not a “grade” but a way to locate yourself on the leadership map.

Frequency: The External Habit

Question: How often is this behavior observable in my daily life or ministry?

1 – Never: This is not a current practice or rhythm in my life
6 – Consistently: This is a deeply ingrained habit; I do this naturally and regularly.

Energy: The Internal Pulse

Question: When I perform this task, does it fuel me or drain me?

1 – Draining/Forced: This feels like a heavy obligation or a “performance.” It costs me a lot of mental or spiritual effort.
6 – Life-giving/Energizing: This feels natural and satisfying. I feel the Holy Spirit’s “wind in my sails” when I do this.

Note to Leader:

Be honest about the “friction” between these two numbers. High frequency (6) with low energy (1) is a primary indicator of burnout risk. Conversely, low frequency (1) with high energy (6) identifies a latent strength waiting to be developed.
